Me: Did you smile back?
J: I don't know. I can't see my face.
Me: So are you talking about what's happening in Egypt in class?
C: Huh?
Me: Don't you guys talk about current events at school?
C: Mom, I'm in the sixth grade. I can barely keep up with what's going on in iCarly.
